Gautam Gambhir Indian former opener had announced his retirement from all the formats of cricket. This Indian player has given all of us such cherishing memories whether it was a T-20 world cup of 2007 or 2011.

In 2007 he got this great opportunity to open partnership with ace player Virendra Sehwag. This was the turning point of his carrier and he became the most prominent opener for the Indian Team. In 2011 ODI world cup, he played most crucial innings of 97 runs which helped Indian team to lift the world cup.

Here, we shall be not discussing his cricket achievements, but all his activities full of Humanity. Always aggressive on the field, the cricketer is popular for his principles of living life. After getting dropped by selectors of BCCI, Gambhir played another innings so gracefully that can even inspire you.

Supporting Transgender Community –

37 years cricketer wore saree and bindi to support transgender without any hesitation in a social welfare program. In recent verdict given by Supreme Court on controversial section 377 to decriminalize it, Gambhir supported the motion in his own way.

The Transgender Community came forward to collaborate with Alliance India Association to organize an event on HIV/AIDS in Delhi. The theme was kept was ‘ Born This Way’. Gambhir is known for his strong statements on social issues, in the event, he shared his words on the removal of section 377 and how transgender helps the society on their part.

Community Kitchen – EK ASHA

The cricketer has launched a community kitchen in Delhi’s Patel Nagar last year to feed the poor and needy, who crave for one meal without any cost. This initiative is a part of his philanthropic Endeavour. In his tweet, he told his fans and followers that he has won world cups, IPL this time he is going to win hearts and eradicate hunger from the society. He named this initiative as EK ASHA.

His initiative was appreciated by his team-mate Shikhar Dhawan and King Khan Shahrukh. The name of his foundation is Gautam Gambhir Foundation who always tries to do something unique.

Bearing full expense of kids of CRPF personnel killed –

The golden-hearted cricketer has pledged to bear all the expenses of children’s of 25 CRPF personnel killed by Maoists in South Sukma area of Chhattisgarh in April last year. After reading news about this attack, he decided to support CRPF kids in studies and provide financial support to them.

The zealous cricketer has always tried to contribute his part to society. It doesn’t matter whether you are playing for the country or not just make an effort to run the society. He was the talk of the town for being rude on the field whether it was Virat Kohli or someone else he never feared anything. He tries to do a bit and also inspire the youth of the nation.
