“Being in a pageant is not about the beauty. It’s more about service to the community and being a role model and making a difference. It’s being proud of your country. It’s all what you put into it…”
– Chantel Giamanco

Gray won accolades from one and all for her question answer round. The top three contestants were asked the same question by pageant presenter Steve Harvey: “What is the most important lesson you’ve learned and how will you apply it to your time as Miss Universe?”
She answered: “I work a lot in the slums of Tondo, Manila and the life there is poor and very sad. And I’ve always taught myself to look for the beauty of it and look in the beauty of the faces of the children and to be grateful. And I will bring this aspect as a Miss Universe to see situations with a silver lining and to assess where I could give something, where I could provide something like a spokesperson. And this I think if I can teach people to be grateful, we can have an amazing world where negativity could not grow and foster and children will have a smile on their faces.”
Because of her unparalleled charm & charisma, witty yet intellectual heartfelt answers, she won the esteemed Miss Universe title. She was crowned by her predecessor Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa.
Take a view of her journey and memorable moments of the competition.
A well-deserved win, we must say! And we hope to see Gray rise and shine and bring a big and positive change in the lives of everyone around her…
Good luck Miss Universe 2018!
