Majority of the face masks these days are filled with toxic elements such as sulphates and preserving agents. Solution to this dilemma- make your own effective and natural face masks at home.
To have healthy thriving skin, go back to the basics. Follow your grandma’s pieces of advice and trust your kitchen supplies over counter bought. Remove make-up as soon as possible and never sleep with it. Eat healthy, live stress-free and sleep well.
We have a few skin-transforming natural face masks that are not only stress-free and practical but inexpensive and can be easily made with available ingredients too.
Do try these Natural Face Masks daily and your skin will thank you for it-
1) For dry skin-
½ ripe avocado
1 tbsp milk
1 tbsp honey
Mix all three together and apply to your face for 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water. Avocado is known for its anti-inflammatory effect that helps improve acne and moisturizes dry skin.
2) To reduce dark circles and puffy eyes-
1 tsp coffee grounds
A pinch of black pepper
¼ tsp of coconut oil
Mix all three together and apply on the skin under eyes for 5-10 minutes. Wash off with warm water. Caffeine in coffee reduces the swelling and dark circles.
3) For oily skin-
½ a potato
1 tsp lemon juice
Grind the potato and add lemon juice, mix it and apply on your face. Wash off when dry. This mask works wonders to remove oily shine.
4) To reduce blackheads-
1 tbsp lemon
1 tbsp honey
Mix two well and apply all over the face for 20 minutes. While lemon purifies and removes blackheads, honey moisturizes the skin well.
5) To fight wrinkles and lift your skin-
1 ripe tomato
Make a paste of tomato and put on your face for 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. This mask tones lightens, freshens and lifts the skin.
6) Reduce tiredness and inflammation-
1 tbsp yoghurt
and 1 tsp soda
Mix all three and apply for 15 minutes and wash. This mask will not only reduce inflammation and acne but make your skin soft and supple.
7) To get rid of pores-
2 tbsp yoghurt
1 tsp of fuller’s earth powder (Multani Mitti)
½ tsp honey
Mix all three and apply on your skin for 15 minutes. Wash off with cool water. This mask is great because it helps to get rid of large pores and lighten the pigment spots too.
8) To remove dead skin (natural scrubber) –
½ cup oatmeal
1/3 glass water
5 drops of vitamin E
Boil oatmeal in water and cook it. After it’s cooled down add vitamin E and apply on your face for 15 minutes. Because of soft oatmeal, this pack is great for sensitive skin and can be used daily to remove dead skin and dirt.
Before using any these natural face masks, don’t forget to do a test. Also, remember these natural remedies work when used consistently. Religiously and patiently, use these daily to ensure maximum benefit.
